Sometimes, the quiet moments in life offer the most comfort. This Wednesday was one of those days—a day without appointments, spent at grandma’s house, filled with small but meaningful experiences. It was a chance to pause, reflect, and find peace in the everyday.

A Day Without Rush

Waking up without a packed schedule felt like a relief. No appointments meant more time to relax and enjoy the slower pace. Spending the day at grandma’s brought a sense of calm that’s hard to find elsewhere. The familiar surroundings, the quiet hum of the house, and the comfort of family created a safe space to just be.

Even though my forearm was hurting today, I couldn’t quite figure out why. I tried to remember if I had lifted something heavy or done any unusual activity, but nothing stood out. Sometimes, small aches remind us to slow down and listen to our bodies.

Nourishing the Body with Simple Food

Food on this day was uncomplicated but satisfying. For a snack, I had a plate with mini peppers, cucumbers, Babybel cheese, some roast beef, and a pickle. It was colorful and fresh, a perfect light bite to keep me going. Dinner was a straightforward chicken breast, cooked simply but filling.

These meals reminded me that food doesn’t have to be fancy to be good. Sometimes, the best nourishment comes from simple, wholesome ingredients that bring comfort and energy without fuss.

Reflecting on Yesterday’s Moments

Yesterday was a meaningful day spent with my mom. We shared time together, which felt grounding after the emotional weight of the memorial service. I also had counseling today, which was exactly what I needed. Talking through feelings and memories helped me process everything.

My counselor suggested thinking of Mercedes as always being around, like a presence that never leaves. A song came to mind that made me feel her near, a reminder that those we love stay with us in different ways. This perspective brought a bit of peace amid the sadness.

Taking Time for Connection

Although I didn’t work on homework today, I made sure to spend time visiting with family. These moments of connection are just as important as any task or obligation. They remind us that life is about relationships and support, especially during tough times.

Finding Peace in the Everyday

This Wednesday was a reminder that not every day needs to be packed with activity or achievement. Sometimes, the simple days spent with loved ones, eating familiar food, and reflecting quietly are exactly what we need. They help us heal, recharge, and appreciate the small comforts that often go unnoticed.
