Life often feels like a balancing act between responsibilities, family moments, and personal goals. Today was one of those days where everything came together in a meaningful way—starting with a heartfelt church service, followed by cooking, family time, and spring cleaning. These moments remind us how simple acts can bring peace and connection, even amid busy schedules.

A Meaningful Morning at Church

The day began with live streaming the service for Quinault Valley Chapel. It was a wonderful gathering, filled with familiar faces including my cousins and many others from the community. The energy was uplifting, and the message resonated deeply. During the service, they asked for birthdays in February. I thought of Mercedes, who would have turned 16 this month. Though she is in heaven, she remains very much alive in my heart. I placed her birthday money in the collection as a way to honor her memory and keep her spirit close.

This moment was a gentle reminder that family extends beyond the physical world. It’s about love, remembrance, and carrying those we cherish with us every day.

Cooking Comfort: Egg Roll Bowls and Simple Meals

After church, my mom and I headed home where I prepared egg roll bowls for lunch. The dish was delicious and satisfying, a perfect way to refuel after the morning’s activities. I also enjoyed a Red Bull Zero to keep my energy steady throughout the day.

For dinner, I kept it light with grapes and an iced coffee. The egg roll bowl lunch was filling enough, and my mom reminded me, “You can’t take it all with you.” So, I left her some leftovers to enjoy later. These small moments of sharing food and conversation are what make family life so rich.

Managing Health and Staying on Track

Today also marked a step forward in managing my health. I took my daily shot and increased my tirzepatide dose to 4.0 mg. Staying consistent with medication and monitoring progress is crucial, especially when balancing other daily responsibilities. It’s a reminder that self-care is part of the bigger picture of family and service.

Spring Cleaning and Letting Go

Spring cleaning is underway at home. We recently got a new Ninja air fryer, but my mom is busy rearranging and deciding which small appliances to keep or let go. We are clearing out clothes and items we no longer use or need. It’s a practical way to refresh our space and lighten the load.

This process also carries a deeper meaning: we can’t take material things with us beyond this life. Letting go of clutter helps us focus on what truly matters—relationships, memories, and personal growth.

Studying and Family Time at Grandma’s

Now, I’m back at Grandma’s house and will be here until Friday. It’s a quiet evening with grandma watching TV while I work on my laptop. I completed my discussion question earlier and am now focused on my paper.

My teacher’s feedback on my last paper was encouraging:

“Well done! Your accuracy and step-by-step cost reasoning are strong, and you clearly understand both traditional and activity-based costing systems. To elevate your work to the highest graduate standard, begin incorporating more managerial interpretation. Keep up the great work!” — Dr. Kathryn

I plan to improve my wording by explaining how I would use the reports and why. This kind of feedback helps me grow academically while balancing family life and personal goals.

Finding Balance in Everyday Life

This day shows how balance comes from blending service, family, health, and personal growth. Whether it’s honoring a loved one at church, sharing a meal, cleaning out old belongings, or focusing on schoolwork, each part contributes to a fulfilling life.

Key takeaways to find balance in your own life:

  • Connect with family and community. Small gestures, like remembering birthdays or sharing meals, strengthen bonds.

  • Prioritize health consistently. Managing medication and self-care supports long-term well-being.

  • Simplify your space. Spring cleaning can clear physical and mental clutter.

  • Embrace learning and growth. Use feedback as a tool to improve and stay motivated.

  • Make time for quiet moments. Rest and reflection are essential amid busy days.

Balance is not about perfection but about making space for what matters most. When we focus on meaningful connections and personal care, life feels more manageable and rewarding.
