Starting the day with simple meals and ending it with vivid memories can shape how we feel and reflect on life. Today’s food choices, medical checkups, and a trip down memory lane all came together to remind me how important it is to balance health and happiness.

What I Ate Today and Why It Matters
Today’s meals were a mix of quick convenience and protein-rich choices. I started with two hard-boiled eggs, which are a great source of protein and help keep energy steady throughout the day. Later, I grabbed a medium fries from McDonald’s and enjoyed 10 chicken nuggets. These fast-food items are easy and satisfying but can be high in salt and fat, so I balanced them by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
The highlight was a venti iced chestnut praline latte. It’s a seasonal treat that adds a bit of sweetness and warmth even on a hot day. While not the healthiest drink, it felt like a small reward.
Eating well doesn’t mean perfection every day. It means making choices that work for your lifestyle and health goals. For me, that means mixing protein-rich foods with occasional treats and staying hydrated.
Health Checkups and Staying on Track
Today I saw my cardiologist for a three-month checkup to monitor my high blood pressure medication. Regular visits like this are essential to keep track of how well the treatment is working and to make adjustments if needed. Managing blood pressure is a daily commitment that involves medication, diet, and lifestyle.
I also have an appointment with my primary care doctor on Thursday. These checkups help me stay proactive about my health and catch any issues early. It’s a reminder that health is a continuous journey, not a one-time fix.

Travel Plans and Fond Memories
Tomorrow, I’m traveling to Taholah for a Queets Clearwater basketball game. It’s exciting to support local sports and enjoy time with friends or family. Interestingly, there’s no boys’ game on Wednesday, which gives a little break in the week’s schedule.

While driving to Olympia today, I thought a lot about Mercedes. We used to drive all over the place, having fun and going on adventures even when money was tight. I remember eating $1.50 hot dogs from Costco and still feeling rich in experiences. Those memories remind me that joy doesn’t come from expensive things but from the moments we share and the freedom to explore.

Balancing Food, Health, and Life’s Joys
Today showed me how food, health, and memories connect. Eating a mix of protein and fast food, staying hydrated, and keeping up with medical appointments all play a role in managing health. At the same time, remembering past adventures and looking forward to new ones keeps life exciting.
If you’re managing health concerns, focus on small, consistent steps like regular checkups and balanced meals. And don’t forget to make time for the things that bring you happiness. Life is about finding that balance between care and celebration.
