Saturday marked the start of a refreshing weekend getaway to Yakima. The day began with a mix of rain at home and bright sunshine upon arrival, instantly lifting spirits and promising a weekend full of warmth and good vibes. This trip was made even better thanks to grandma, who kindly lent her car, making travel smooth and comfortable.

Comfortable Stay at Best Western on 1st Street
Our accommodation was the Best Western on 1st Street. While it’s not my favorite Best Western, the hotel offered a clean, comfortable, and pleasant environment to unwind after busy days. One small hiccup was the door keys, which barely worked this time around. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall stay was relaxing and restful.
Fun-filled Dance Time with Gavin and the Girls
One of the highlights of the weekend was watching Gavin and his daughters dance for three hours. Their energy and joy were contagious. The girls dressed as the cutest minions, adding a playful and adorable touch to the event. Gavin clearly had a blast, and the girls’ smiles showed how much fun they were having. Moments like these remind us how important it is to enjoy time with family and create lasting memories.
Evening Relaxation and MOD for a Friend
After the dance event, we returned to the hotel, where I took on the role of MOD
for my best friend Lara. It was a fun experience, and I quickly fell asleep afterward, feeling content and ready for the next day. The combination of activity and rest made the weekend feel balanced and fulfilling.
Sunshine and Vitamin D Boost
Leaving a rainy home and arriving in sunny Yakima was a welcome change. The bright sunshine provided a much-needed dose of vitamin D, which instantly boosted my mood. It’s amazing how a change in weather can influence energy levels and overall well-being.
Simple and Delicious Meals
Keeping track of meals was part of the weekend routine. For breakfast, I had a chicken breast, which was a healthy and satisfying start to the day. Lunch included two chicken chunks, providing a good protein boost. Dinner was a highlight—a burrito bowl from Chipotle that was so tasty I only managed to eat half before sharing the rest with Gavin. Sharing food added to the sense of togetherness that defined the weekend.
